My, how the years have flown by!
If you asked my kids what Daddy does for work, they’d be sure to say that I type on a computer and (frequently) look stressed.
It’s not always been like that, there was a time when I’d go to work at the (much missed) Television Centre in Shepherd’s Bush every day and produce silliness with puppets and presenters.
Looking back at my time at a producer at CBBC, I remember 2 things clearly:
1: How amazing the team I led was.
2: Sweltering in a studio with no air-conditioning!
It was such a pleasure to be there at the beginning of the Hacker T. Dogg’s iconic journey towards becoming a national treasure.
It was also great to work with Iain Stirling (of ‘Love Island’ fame) as he developed his funny bones.
The pressure of creating new content every day was significant, but it was an absolute joy to work with this team.
If only the studio wasn’t as hot as the surface of the sun!
