It’s out! Have you read ‘Blast from the past’ yet?

My children’s book, ‘Blast from the past’ starring The Raccoons is out now from Candy Jar Books.

Aimed at reluctant readers, aged 7+, this chapter book is filled with amazing new illustrations by Terry Cooper, making it the perfect bedtime read or something for kids to read by themselves.

Here’s an extract from the first chapter:

“So, what do you need to know about the Evergreen Forest?
Well, first of all, it’s a forest.
And, secondly, it’s always green… ‘Ever-green’,
you might say.
Okay, that wasn’t particularly helpful, was it?
You’d probably have figured that out for yourself.
Let’s cut to the chase. The Evergreen Forest is
seriously big. Think of the biggest place you know.
Have you got it?
Okay, now double it in size.
Then times that by ten.
Can you picture it? Well, that isn’t even a quarter
of the size of the Evergreen Forest. Big, eh?
What else do you need to know about the forest?
Well, it’s far, far away. It’s in a part of the world where people just don’t visit. Why don’t they go there? There are many possible reasons, but the most likely is that the mobile phone signal is bad and there are no chain coffee shops or burger joints – so it’s understandable really…”
